Digital News Production - Group Meeting

Today our group met up and went through each script for the different stories. For the Hugh Lowe Farm script we looked into who we could interview and and what kind of shots we wanted to have. We decided that we wanted the reporter to interview the family members who own the farm. Also we want the reporter to be standing in the middle of their 400 acre field and the camera to zoom out to an extreme wide shot, this will be good to show the size of the farm with the reporter as a measuring point. We also added in an intro, with a presenter in a studio, who would introduce both stories and talk a little bit about them. We was also thinking about ending the news on that too.

We then started to work the second story script, this would be a "Live" report and we wanted the reporter to be at the site of where they are planning to tear up the land and build houses. We would that the reporter would interview some of the locals to get their views across. Also we have a statement from the building society, these are the people who are planning the tear out. We would include their statement in the report with some footage of the scenery.

We also talked about filming dates and possible dates to go do some test shoots at Hugh Lowe Farm and look for more interesting people to interview and places to shoot. Also we'll be doing some test shots at the Nightingale site and see if we can shoot some nightingales in action.

Overall a very good and productive day and got loads of work done.
