ITV News of the 1st of December
I will Compare how they tell the story of the cancer doctor abusing his children patents. I will also talk about the elite theory and the magic bullet theory and how link to the two channel and how they present the story.
BBC
- Factual
- They interviewed the doctor and patents
- Intro the story
- Not biased towards the story
- Elite theory would fit with this channel
- Commercial
- Entertainment
- Dramatical
- Biased towards the story
- Magic Bullet theory would fit with this channel
I think that the story is very interesting and have chosen it because they both prioritise it as their top story for that day. However they tell the story in two different ways, ITV very biased towards the doctor and want the public to follow with these feelings. Also they are very dramatic when they present the story.
BBC are very factual and non biased towards the story, also they don't force an opinion out to the views, however they are a good example of the elite theory as the only let people of a high class influence what they put onto the news. I.e. the government are a group of high class and wealthy people.
Overall I think that this will be a good aim for my essay and will be good to discuss. I need to make sure I do my reading and get loads of information and quotes to fill my easy with and get the best grade possible.
