Today Ruby and I went to Kent Life Farm to film the package, Charlie couldn't make it due to work, however Ruby and I did an amazing job even with out him. Throughout there day we were escorted round the entire farm by Holly Bourne, she helps to run the Cobtree group, she was very helpful, and let us into loads to areas that locals don't get access to i.e. into the animals homes and the office where we had our interview with Tony Reed. We got loads and loads of actuality, sequences, interviews and stock footage which will come in handy in post.
We took it in terns to do camera and Ruby did the sound, we worked well together and got a lot done.
We went throughout all the shot on the script, our minds and what we could imagine and more, plus a lot of V.I.P footage which is never seen by the public.
Overall I am very pleased with the day as we got loads done and didn't miss anything out. The only problem is that when we got back and looked at the pieces to camera which i did, the audio was really poor, this became a problem as we couldn't use the footage. However in the end this came to our advantage as we thought that we was making the package too much like a documentary, so Ruby and I decided to do a voice over instead, this would allow us to say more facts and information about farming figures and the Cobtree group. This also allowed us space to add a graphics to the edit and with the over voice i could explain it, this would make the piece more newsy and less documentary like.
